Treatment of Diabetes

Currently, no cure is available for diabetes, except for the (rarely) pancreas transplant. However, with regular self-monitoring of blood glucose combined with and an appropriate diet, exercise and medications, people with diabetes can lead healthy and active lives.

Various studies have shown that lifestyle changes can prevent or delay the onset of type 2 diabetes in high-risk adults. One study confirmed that dietary changes and moderate exercise (such as walking) prevented the development of diabetes with 58% of participants.

Unfortunately, there is currently no way to prevent type I diabetes. However, companies such as Lobeck Medical, produce products that help people with diabetes cope with their illness in the best possible way.
